MILESTONE MOMENTS

This year marks the 45th Anniversary of both Chicago and New York City overturning decade’s old bans on the operation of pinball machines. The doors were finally opened allowing so many to enjoy the wonders of the silverball. But another anniversary deserves even more reason to celebrate. It was 150 years ago, on May 30th, 1871 that Montegue Redgrave received a patent for his “Improvements in Bagatelles” machine.

He would form a company in Chicago with Frederic Wilson called ‘Redgrave and Wilson’ which made bagatelle games for the home and taverns between 1873 and 1875. Redgrave then moved to Jersey City, NJ and began to build machines from this new location.

This is the can’t miss event of the year. Mark your calendars for Pinball Expo ‘21 and be a part of pinball history. Maybe you will even make your own pinball history.
